On Sunday October 19th at approximately 10:13 AM, Officer Ralph Liquori was sent to Van Nostrand Avenue in Englewood Cliffs to assist Officer Sean Flannelly of the Englewood Cliffs Police Department with a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), in progress on an unresponsive male. The Englewood Cliffs Police Department requested the mutual aid assistance of the Fort Lee Police Department due to several of their officers being committed to an accident investigation in their borough.
Officers Ralph Liquori and Sean Flannelly conducted chest compressions and rescue breathing before turning the patient over to paramedics from Englewood Hospital. The patient survived the episode, and is currently recovering at an area hospital. On November 12th, Englewood Cliffs Police Chief Michael Cioffi presented PO Liquori and PO Flannelly with an award for life saving. PO Liquori has been a Fort Lee police officer since 2005, and currently he is assigned to the department’s Emergency Services Unit.
