Description and Details of Incident: On 07-10-2017 at 0615 hours, Fort Lee Communications Center (Com-Cen) received a 9-1-1 call to Gerome Avenue on a reported burglary to motor vehicle. Com-Cen further stated that the suspect was confronted by the homeowner. The resident noticed Kyung Cho enter into her neighbor’s vehicle and begin to rummage through paperwork and open various compartments within. Cho told the person that he was looking for an Uber vehicle. The resident exited his home and asked Cho to get away from his vehicle and off of his property. Upon the arrival of Fort Lee Police Officers, the resident advised them that Cho fled the scene and pointed the officers towards Lemoine Avenue. Detective Dennis Pothos was successful in apprehending Cho at the intersection of Lemoine Avenue and Hoyt Street with the assistance of Sgt. Billy Triantafillou and Officer Carlos Cabrera. Officers subsequently found Cho to be in possession of pills that were not prescribed to him. A witness identified Cho as being the person who was not authorized to be in her neighbor’s vehicle. The victim also responded to Fort Lee Police Headquarters and provided a statement about the burglary. Criminal complaint summons #S-2017-000671-0219 for possession of controlled dangerous substance and burglary to motor vehicle and summons #S-2017-000672-0219 for theft moveable property were generated. The suspect has a CJP Court for first appearance on July 28, 2017 at 10:00AM.
