Description and details of incident:

On Saturday August 11, 2018, at approximately 0635 hours, Fort Lee Police Department Police Officer Carlos Cabrera and Police Officer Nicholas Cima were on patrol in the area of Route 1 North in the Borough of Fort Lee. While on patrol, the officers conducted a check of the Skyview Motel Parking Lot (1560 Bergen Boulevard). While travelling through the parking lot, they located two stolen vehicles, which were occupied by multiple parties. The vehicles were described as a 2017 Blue Ford Fusion with a Virginia registration and a 2008 Silver Subaru Forrester with a Virginia registration.

Backup officers from the Fort Lee Police Department, Palisades Park Police Department and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department arrived on scene to assist.

Upon the arrival of backup, the occupants of the stolen motor vehicles were removed from the vehicles and placed under arrest.

A total of seven actors were occupying the two vehicles. Three of the actors were identified as adults and four were identified as juveniles.

As one of the Juveniles was being secured, a firearm was located on his person. As officers approached the vehicles to ensure they were no longer occupied, they observed two additional firearms, a high capacity firearm magazine, and controlled dangerous substance, marijuana.

A NCIC computer search for Jacaree M. Cogdell revealed that he had a warrant for his arrest from Newport Virginia for several firearms charges, which included four counts of attempting to maliciously shoot victims.

Cogdell, Holley and Pair were transported to the Bergen County Jail on August 11, 2018 pending their first court appearance.

Juveniles matters have referred to family court, no additional information will be released about the juveniles. Two of the Juveniles were transported to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center, and the remaining two were released to their family.

If any of the above parties were witnessed or anyone has additional information please contact the Fort Lee Police Department General Investigation Bureau at 201-592-3510.
